July 26

Seth started out with a rough morning of feeling sick but as the day went on he felt better. He is trying to eat food at times a little more successful then others. Seth's spirits are better this evening. As I am writing this he is challenging his dad to a game of Othello. We will see if Todd can beat the champion. He had an MRI today to make sure the surgeon removed all of the tumor. We pray for positive results. Also continue to pray that he can eat food. Although this is a tough and trying time in our family's life God's grace is with us. I was reminded of the scripture in 2 Cor. 12:9 But he said to me, My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is make perfect in weakness. Even when we feel at our weakest points God is there.
Also thank you to the Mayor of Elm and all the other folks that did our yard work you guys are awesome:)
PS Ernie: I do not think Seth liked the idea of you clippering his hair even if you do a licence as a Barber:)

Hi Seth,
You don't know us, but I (Julie) have known your parents since they were just a little older than you are now. You're in our prayers daily and we trust that you will continue to know God's presence in a very special way...and that you'll be able to enjoy an Arby's burger again soon! Todd and Marie, I'm praying for you guys whenever you enter my mind...which is pretty often. We'll pray that verse along with you that God's grace would be sufficient.
love,
Julie and Mike Nightingale

Seth,
hope you don't try to take it easy on your dad when you play othello- he needs the challenge :o)
seriously we are still thinking of you and prayijng for you, we are glad to see and hear God's work happening in your life - He has the best way through all of this and He is surrounding you with prayer, protection and His peace...I pray for you to keep on showing the world around you that your God Reigns! Remember that even when you just need to lean on mom & dad and let God use them to totally comfort and support you you are then showing how God has given you such terrific gifts in you life like a mom & dad right there with you. You seem so very brave Seth, remember often how much you are truly loved!

Dear Seth and family,
Hi Seth, you don't know us, but we are friends of your parents. We are praying for you so much. We were very excited to hear who your new doctor is. I had e-mailed your blog to a friend and she excitedly e-mailed me back about Dr. Carson whose book she read. She also heard him speak on TV. Here is a quote from the book, “This is the inspiring story of Ben Carson, who grew up in the inner city and went on to become one of America’s most loved and highly respected doctors.” He is the Director of Pediatric Neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Here is a quote from my friend who is a nurse, "Basically, he totally rocks!!!" We are so glad that the Lord has provided for you to be in such good hands.
Much love,
Carolyn Martin (for Steve and the girls)
