August 19

Once again God is faithful! Seth's port surgery went better then expected. He is a little sore but does not have any of the side effects that they said were common to have after the port line procedure and a spinal tap. He actually asked last night "mom did they have an IV in my back because for some reason I have a band aid there?" Obviously the spinal tap had no effects on him at all! We are waiting for the results of the spinal tap. Pray it comes back clear that there are no tumor cells in his spine. Seth, Todd and Sarah traveled back to Johns Hopkins today to meet with the radiation oncologist about Seth's radiation treatments. It looks like they want him to start on Monday August 25th. It will be about a 15 minute treatment 5 days a week for 6 weeks. Please join in prayer that there will not be any side effects from these treatments. I would love to update you with a picture but I have to admit I do not know how to do that so you will have to wait for Todd to give me a helping hand:) I was encourage to find that the Dr today was surprised that Seth was doing so well. He said the other 2 children he is treating for Medulloblastoma had surgery 6 months ago and are still not able to speak. We definitely see and feel the power of prayer.

Praise God that things are going more smoothly than the doctors expected! You're a real trooper, Seth. God will continue to walk with you. When you doubt it, just go back and read all the praises on your blog! We'll keep praying!
