September 5th

Yesterday was Seth's first day of the low dosage chemo. He will be receiving this every Friday for 5 more weeks. This is in addition to the 5 days of radiation a week. In November he will start the full dosage of chemo. The treatment went ok yesterday. We did find out that his white blood counts have dropped and he felt sick in his stomach during the afternoon and into the evening. Even though he felt yucky he was still able to finish his school work but did not have enough energy to make it to his piano lesson. Please pray that his white blood counts do not continue to drop and that they even start coming up. Sometimes I wish you were all here to see how brave of kid Seth is. He hates what is he has to face but faces it anyway. The nurses in radiation have commented and said "he always has a smile on his face when he first gets off the radiation table." Although this is hard on him he still smiles:) Seth is really enjoying his 1 1/2 hours of going to school and seeing his friends before he needs to drive to his not so favorite destination.... Johns Hopkins..... Even though it makes a busy day (school, hospital, makeup school work in the afternoons) it is worth it to him just to be able to be a normal 11 year kid for a just a little even if it is only til 9:30 in the morning. We truly covet all the prayers. People say to us how do you do it and I can tell you how......By the grace of God who gives us strength to face every morning, every test result, every treatment appointment, and every sickness!
