Today we met with the oncologists at Johns Hopkins to find out what Seth's next step will be. Seth will need to get a spinal tap to see if there are any cells in his brain or spine that would form tumors. He will then have a port put in to his artery so they will be able to give chemo without all the injections. Then he starts radiation. Radiation will be 6 weeks long and we will have to travel to Baltimore every day Monday through Friday. Seth then has 4 weeks off till he starts chemo treatments. There will be 9 chemo treatments each treatment 3-4 weeks apart. He will have to stay in the hospital for 2-4 days during each chemo treatment. We were told by the oncologist that after all of the radiation and chemo he expects Seth to be cured. Those are sweet words to our ears! Seth found out today that he will probably lose his hair:( But I thought wouldn't it be cool if God let him keep that. So I will be praying about that and would love if you join me. We posted pictures of Seth and his doctors. One is Seth with Dr Jallo his surgeon and the other is Seth with Dr. Cohan and Dr. Baxbaum the oncologists. Please pray for our family during this time. God has been so faithful. We dealt with a lot of emotions during the past 2 1/2 weeks but each time we feel like this is too much handle God just wraps his arms around us and gives us the strength to keep going:)
Many people have been asking if the tumor that was removed from Seth's brain " is it cancer?". The answer is yes it was cancer. The good news is the type of medulloblastoma it was, and with the correct treatment the cure rate is very high.
